"likely" email?

<p>I’m still confused why NYU would send a letter like that when they could just send an acceptance letter…hmm.</p>

<p>^I heard that it’s because of that “After April 1st” policy, so instead of telling you before April 1st, they hint at it? Maybe? I dunno, I think it kind of makes sense.</p>

<p>I know…you’d think they’d just add a simple “Congratulations - You’ve Been Accepted” and eliminate all of this drama!!! I joked around with whoever answered the phone in admissions and mentioned that when I called, and the admissions student ambassador just chuckled. She said she agreed, but said it’s just always been done this way for some reason.</p>

<p>^ i think they hint at it mainly because if letters are sent out april 1st, not everyone will receive them at the same time and not on time for us to make it to the events they had planned only about a week after we are supposed to find out. so they forewarn us, giving us time to actually make travel plans. it makes sense to me : D</p>
