I submitted my app on 12/25 and I got the likely candidate email on 2/12 (2 days after my b-day!)

dec 20 .....

december 29.

I submitted my 2 days before the regular deadline, but my school stuff didn't reach the SEAS. So I sent it again last week after the admissions office told me to do so ... will this affect my already ->0 admission chances?

Quick question: How do these likely letters look like?

Roughly hpw many likely letters are sent out?

what do these letters say? i got an email from columbia a couple days ago and am not sure if it's a likely email or not

I got an email from Columbia as well but it wasn't a likely letter.
It wanted to confirm my information; I hope this is not a letter intended for rejects.

^^
i got the same letter, I think it was because I just sent in my mid year, and it may have just gotten to them, so my application was complete

how many ppl get these likely emails?

^ I'd like to second that question... what % of admitted applicants get likely letters?

Waaa. I want one. Any chance that they might still send more out?

I'm surprised they're sending out likely letters for CC this year. They never used to. My guess is with Harvard/Yale's new financial aid initiative, Columbia is trying extra hard to win some cross-admits.

are likely emails a for sure thing, like are you basically in(like 99% sure) unless you commit a crime or get bad grades?

jkjkjkj- Yeah, if you get a likely e-mail you're in. Just don't murder anyone or something like that.

does anyone know how many people get these?

i got an email about scheduling ANOTHER interview saying that I am being considered for an Opportunity Program specifically the Higher Education Opportunity Program.

what are your takes on this?

I got a call last week from a Columbia University student confirming that I got a likely letter and said I could call him if I had any questions. I also got another email from Columbia inviting me to an extra admit day for "Perspectives on Diversity" POD

socr- here's a link for what you're looking for.
Academic Success Programs

I thought likely letters were mostly for recruited athletes?

yea, but what i meant was...is this any indication that I am going to get an acceptance letter?
