I got an email inviting me to the Open House thing on April 11th. Logically, it would make sense to invite those who probably will get in. Now, has anyone gotten one of these in the past and then later being rejected? Do they do that?

There’s no reason to believe that you won’t be accepted because you didn’t receive the letter. Many schools seem to give out likely letters to just a few applicants, despite the fact that they will accept many more. Good luck!

sfg2014 you’re referring to Engineer applicants too right? Those letters are for Engineer applicants and I’m also wondering if those are essentially the acceptance letters or not for that school. I’m also hoping that they don’t necessarily mean you won’t get into the school of engineering if you don’t get it.

These letters are just for engineering. For all I know, not getting one could mean that you didn’t get in. I just don’t think it works that way. Hopefully it doesn’t work that way, for the sake of the engineering applicants who didn’t receive one. :)

I did compare them to likely letters at other schools, even though they’re a little different because these are specific to the engineering school. My disclaimer is that I’m just a regular UCLA engineering applicant. I did receive the letter a few days ago, but I don’t really know anything more than what I’ve read in this thread and the other letter thread.
