Sygharitiria !!!

(Congratulations in Greek, for all the non-dancers)

Just got one! Ah so happy =D

Mailbox still empty :. Ah well didn’t think I’d get one anyway

Out of curiousity, do likely letters come snail mail, or email?

@cvilltn, euxaristw poly! quite excited, as this is my first non-state “acceptance.”

@ space cadet, snail mail.

also curious, does anyone know how many likely letters they send out per year? rough estimate? past numbers?

If one does not get a likely letter, does that mean that they aren’t getting in?

I’m pretty sure most admitted kids don’t get likely letters. I think 4,500 or so kids get in per year. I’d be surprised if more than 1000 likely letters were sent out. that leaves 75% of acceptances for kids who don’t get letters.

Duke send out 300-350 likely letters each year which is about 10% of the total admitted. Most get in without one.

Just wondering if these are sent out by region.

Dragonboy, how did you find out about that number? I can’t find any official statement on that by Duke. Just curious.

I have heard the number from people admitted in previous years.

i have a similar question as ohio929496…
has anyone in michigan or the midwest received one yet?!
i mean i dont really think i will get one…but i can hope right? =P

Same as above… I hope they are released by region and that the Northeast hasn’t been sent out yet. Oh well, I don’t expect one.

Out of interest, any internationals receive likely letters? Any deferees from ED receive likely letters?

I suspect if one is liked during ED, they would have been automatically admitted. The academic likelies are given to people to try to lock in candidates a school wants for some reason or the other. They consider them institutional priorities.
