Likely Letter Class of 2019

Just got my likely letter today (Asian male, public school) and it feels extremely surreal. Academics-heavy and pretty sure I wasn’t even the most competitive applicant from my school. Just to make sure it wasn’t some massive fluke, has anybody else received their likely letters?

^Same! (received mine today I mean)

I had no idea that colleges even sent likely letters to anyone other than athletes. I saw the super thin envelope and was like “Oh, they’re just telling me they received my application.”

For the record, I didn’t even send in a peer evaluation, and my interview actually took place after the likely letters were mailed. Not sure what to make of all that, but I am flattered that Dartmouth would send me one. And no—I am not a URM and have no hooks whatsoever.

So, so psyched! Good luck to everyone else; check your mailboxes lol.

Where are you guys from and when was it dated?

Received a Dartmouth likely - I live somewhat close, so maybe give it a day or two!

So do they send likely letters through mail and not email? Is that same for all Ivy schools? I know I won’t get one but just wondering

My son received one today. We are in California. I assume by likely letter you mean a letter from the director of admissions stating that you can expect to be accepted? It was dated Feb. 11, and came through the USPS.

@brainyprepster My letter was also dated on February 11th and I live in New Jersey. My interview (rather the actual report from my interviewer, which was sent out on February 13th) also took place after the letter was mailed, so I’m guessing the interview didn’t play into who got the likely letters.

@tellm3more‌ hi! do you mind me asking where in california are you from?

People with likely letters, care to share your intended major please?

LL people: Has there been any change to your portal? Thank you.

No change to portal; intended major is Biology and then Neuroscience

How do you know when the report from interviewer was sent out? My portal does not have anything related to interview. Does that mean my interviewer has not sent the report yet?

Same with my son, the letter was sent several days before his interview, just proving what we all suspected anyway, that interviews don’t matter much if at all! As to what part of California, we are just outside the Bay Area.

Have they sent all likely letters out?

@LucindaEmma In the past, they’ve sent the letter out in waves. So, you could potentially receive a letter up until early/mid March.

@Aguileon Student portals won’t have any notification about interviewers’ reports – none whatsoever.

@T26E4‌ Thanks. That’s what I thought.
How do people know when their interview reports were sent then?

I got one! I’ve been so blessed! Colleges have seen something in me that I didn’t see in myself.

@Aguileon Student aren’t give this datum – another thing to obsess about.

To the people who received likely letters, have you received any financial aid letters, generic notifications, etc.?
