Does Johns Hopkins send out "likely letter" to applicants in March? If so, do people ,who receive these letters, like almost 100% sure they will get in in early April?

What in all hell is a "likely letter"?

Next time you want to ask a universal question, do it in the College Admissions Forum. It really isn't necessary to make 10 different posts in 10 different college forums when you can just make one.

a likely letter is a letter sent before the actual date that they send all the admission decision letters out

the letter says stuff that suggests you're probably admitted.

So, will Johns Hopkins send some?

mdkeung where in ny you from?

not to you

wow md... the more i read ur posts, the more i realize ur the biggest hypocrite i've ever seen.

wen u tell people to ease off on comments, mayb u should look at urs first.

well, its true, no need to post the same thing in 10 different schools

I don't see how my remark came off as disparaging. All I was saying was that one post is better than ten...

irap3pillows: I'm from upstate NY. It's a terrible place to live in, quite boring I'd say.

And seriously BK, can we stop arguing? I'm not here to make enemies.

hmmm...interesting

did you apply to all the schools you posted this thread in Hopeful Dove? or are you just looking for incidents of likely letters at the more prestigious colleges?

Johns Hopkins DOES NOT send likley letters. There are only two occassions where a regular decision applicant may be contacted about their application in advance of the release of all decisions at the end of march. (Please note these are very rare occassions.)

(1) Athletic recruit who is admitted under an early notification process. Coaches are able to ask Admissions for a couple of early recruit reviews and if the Admissions Committee is comfortable and early notification will be released. This usually happens in less than 15-20 cases a year.

(2) In early March some select faculty members may contact applicants who express strong interest and experience in a specific department or specialization. These are follow-ups, and in no way speculate on an Admissions decision.

Hope that explains it.

i applied only to three schools.....lol

just posted those threads on pretigious colleges to fun!

a real likely letter from Yale: http://www.tdy-perdiem.com/rsi/yale1.htm

Yeah, because that is fun. Sometimes I really don't understand some of you CC kids.

And because one school does something does not mean all other schools do it.
