My father wrote a parent recommendation for me some time ago, and last week he received a letter in the mail thanking him for writing it. The letter also said that my "academic and co-curricular accomplishments are impressive." Is this Geneseo's version of a likely letter? Had the letter just said, "thank you for sending in your recommendation" I would not have thought anything of it, but I thought it was interesting how the letter implied that admissions people have at least glanced at my application. What do you think?

It’s not a likely letter.
It’s probably just a nice thank you - don’t take it as more than it is.

I got that today, too. I think it’s just the standard letter that they send to everyone who wrote the parent rec. Geneseo seems to like buttering people up (not complaining at all, I got a cool free t-shirt…) and this just seems to be another nice thing they do to try and woo potential freshmen.
