yes, unfortunately :(

Was I the only person to receive a likely letter today?

…crickets …

No my friend received one as well

Out of curiosity, are those of you who are receiving likely letters nationally recognized in something, recruited athletes, and/or minority students?

Well, what came in the mail for me today is a testament that it’s not just about your test scores, but your story, too.

Appalachian White Male
Poor
31 ACT
Wrote a good essay
No huge list of EC’s

Likely letter! Will attend if HYP does not accept!

I got my likely letter yesterday, dated March 9th. My file was completed around 2 weeks after the deadline, because even though I submitted my common apps and supplements on December 31st, I didn’t know about the peer recommendation aspect of the application. My friend then sent it to Dartmouth around the 3rd week of Jan. Yet, here I am, an unhooked, Asian female asking for financial aid with a likely letter! ^^

My advice is, don’t freak about decisions fellow peers! Try your best to make sure you fulfill all requirements and when you do, leave it up to God. He will have an even better plan for you than the one that you can dream up for yourself =]

Swimstar, I am not an athlete or minority however I am a Questbridge finalist which might very well have something to do with my receiving a likely letter. I also had good stats though but I suspect Questbridge had something to do with it.

@ kkamll

I would reason that QB played a part because I’m a QB finalist and I got a likely letter too!

No hooks or anything, but pretty good stats.

Congrats you guys!

I’m going to sound super dumb but…

Out of curiosity, did yo guys turn in yoru applications early or late? I am trying to figure out if I still have hope of getting in…or maybe even a likely letter, but I turned in my application in November (which may or may not be early? I’m not sure) and if they do it by first come first served, I would think that those who did turn in their applications before December would get their letters in the first wave. Curious! and really really nervous.

I turned mine in on December 31st/January 1. Pretty much right on the dot. And my test scores came in pretty late.

Got my likely todayyy SO EXCITED!

I turned mine in in the middle of December. However I think the likely letters in most, but not all cases, seem to be going to URMs, athletes, or Questbridge students, with obviously some exceptions. A lot of kids will still get in without a likely letter though.

I did not apply to Dartmouth but I’m just curious. Those who got likely letters -could you post your stats?

General Comments:

Dartmouth was my number 1 school, probably should have applied ED to avoid the stress of applying everywhere else (Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, UVA, BC).

Wow I got one today!!! I didn’t think I would as it is so late, but it’s dated March 7 and showed up in my mailbox!! In shock, but a good kind of shock. It’s a bit more direct than the other likelies I received, but I’m still going to remain cautiously hopeful and not get overconfident and whatnot. Is anyone here planning on attending Dimensions?

Ranked 2nd in class, 2310 SAT. Extracurriculars were decent, but far from outstanding/extraordinary. Wrote a good essay (I’m a wordsmith :D). Mexican.

Received likely letter today.

wow there are so many people receiving likely letters. this is crazy.
