<p>Way to go!!! I was wondering when they would start hitting mail boxes. I’m not expecting one until Monday ;).</p>

<p>Congratulations! S1 got one last year. UVa was his top choice. He was accepted to several very competitive programs around the country, but always wanted UVa. He is home on spring break and last night we discussed last year at this time and I asked him, in hindsight, if he had made the right choice. His response, unequivocally, yes. Make sure you chose the school that is the best fit for you and all you are looking for once all decisions come in. Best of luck to you! Wahoowa!</p>

<p>For those that received them this week can you tell me what the beginning of the letter says? My D got a letter from UVA today and Im not sure if it’s a likely letter or just another outreach tool.</p>

<p>Dont want to read too much in to it, she seemed unfazed and I did not want to lead on her on if I am way off base. </p>

<p>2011VAMom…D got a likely last year, and I was just like you; I thought it was another piece of college “junk” mail and tossed it aside. I read this thread and discovered it was a likely. Good luck!</p>

<p>Sees this thread, goes to mailbox, sees envelope from UVA, Opens envelope, reads letter, letter asks for alumni donations, huh?, looks down further, has my parents name on it …</p>

<p>Basically, it will state that your application was impressive, as is your academic record and achievements. Then it will want you to please give UVa serious consideration. No where will it ever say you have been admitted. Most likely letters are nebulous and you are not sure what it is all about, this one is no different.</p>

<p>Yep - I guess what she received is a likely letter. We were not expecting it at all. </p>

<p>For what it’s worth DH and I are excited about it, D is like Oh, OK. </p>

<p>grrr…</p>

<p>Cant wait until the whole process is over and I can send a deposit in for her final choice. This is way too stressful on Mom. </p>

<p>Pretty random though that there was a UVA envelope but then again we get mail from them like 4 times a month , o well, i dont expect a likely letter, but one would definitely regenerate my will to wait till April 1st</p>
