Likely Letter

Did anybody applying to engineering school receive an email from a UCLA electrical engineering professor about a open house invitation? This letter looks like saying that you are definitely going to be accepted.I didn't get a letter like that but my classmate did. I applied college of letters and science. Is this letter only limited to engineering school?

Yes, a lot of applicants to the engineering school get a likely letter. Seems to be exclusive to that school though.

Receiving the letter doesn’t mean you are accepted. UCLA’s known to yank the rug out from under Regents Scholarship applicants, so there is no need to envy anyone who got the letter.

This letter is sent out to the applicants who are applying to UCLA Engineering school.
It is an invitation to UCLA Engineering school open house in April.

As for the alumni scholarship…

I never got an email or phone call regarding the alumni scholarship. When all my friends got them, I thought I wouldn’t get in. However, I just got accepted to the major of my choice! Alumni notifications have nothing to do with admission, just so future applicants aren’t worried
