Might anyone with a likely letter be willing to post the contents of said letter? I'm quite curious as to what it says. Thankyou

Columbia for sure doesn't send likely letters yeh?

I think nearly all if not all the Ivies send out likely letters, so I wouldn't at all say that Columbia for sure doesn't send them.

Those letters are Ivy-League policy, not Yale specific, so theoretically you could get one from any Ivy.

Does Stanford send likely letters?

I don't think so because Stanford can award scholarships. If you are a recruited athlete at Stanford and they want you badly they will issue you what's called a pre-read. Basically you send in your application in September in special envelopes and the admissions commitee either accepts you or rejects you in October. That way, when the NCAA signing period comes up in November Stanford can sign you (if you'll be recieving a scholarship).

No they do, I know someone who got one from Stanford.

Columbia does send likely letters. One of my friends got it last year.

they don't send ed ones though at columbia, and rd is only if they really are trying to get you (i.e. athletes, etc.)

"Columbia does send likely letters. One of my friends got it last year." - did your friend apply ed or rd?
and what did it say..
was he/she an athlete?

My friend got one from Yale. But she is a ridiculously good basketball player-so it was for that. most ppl don't get them. This boy at my school got a personalized letter form Stanford asking him to "check out their facilities" but again he is an amazing runner-but he didn't even apply to Stanford. They just hunted him down

your average applicant (i.e. great, but not recruited athlete or something else special) isn't going to get a likely letter
