likely letter?

I read somewhere something about ivy's sending out likely letters. Can someone tell me about this? Thanks.

Deferred yet hopeful haha,
Jenna

a friend of mine got one from cornell last year around february. that's all i know.

did he end up getting in?

yes. the letter basically implied that she was getting in unless she drops out of school or gets arrested.

Some get them, some don't. I know of some ED kids getting them. I didn't get one but I got in. There are also "unlikely" letters.

Wow, unlikely is crazy.

So I assume that around Feb is when Likelies get sent out?
For some reason, I think I'll get at least one from an Ivy School. =)

wow... someone's presumptuous

It's all a matter of optimism and self-confidence. Try it; you'll live longer. =D

no, i was optimistic about penn, then it kicked my ass

Well, --it happens. Try the best you can, is my advice. Be realistic, I guess.

so i should bank on a likely letter then? haha ;)

Haha...you should probably look up the word "realistic." :p
I believe that very few people get likely letters, and to thread starter, if you got deferred you're not gonna get a likely letter.

good luck :)

Good luck to whom?

to jenna, for RD

I see.

I need luck for RD too!

OMG***BBQ................

when do likely letters usually come out? feb?

hmmm...let me c...abt 3 guys posted ib this thread sayin feb:p ...so feb i guess
