Eek, whyivy! You almost scared me half to death because you're a non-URM who applied to CAS (like me)... Then I found out you're a recruit, and people on this board have said it's not uncommon for Cornell to send likely letters to recruit.

Phew, I can maintain some hope. You should've mentioned that you're a recruit! Oy.

I think bbd44 was talking about the different colleges within Cornell, because the engineering applicants have gotten different likely letter messages.

International students have gotten them via email, whereas everyone else, I believe, has gotten them by paper mail.

Yea, likely letters aren't just for minorities and international students. I got one yesterday, for Engineering. Ahhh, i'm just really worried that for some reason I'll end up getting waitlisted though. Paranoid, i know, but you never know!

^^haha comments like that make me really nervous. everyone basically thinks im going to cornell next year, and im paranoid that i'll get rejected for some reason, even tho i got a likely letter :/

Same here! I don't want to tell people that it's an unofficial acceptance in the event that I actually don't get it (for whatever reason). I'm not even telling people about the letter. This whole thing is so elusive...

yea i got the SWE thing too... idk if im gonna go yet cuz rpi has a thing the same day, and i might go to that even though i would rather go to cornell. i want to though. is anyone else definitely coming?

After reading something on the Cornell website, I just wanted to ask how many of you in the College of Engineering have recieved likely letters that are not girls invited to the women's society of engineers nor are ppl qualified for one of their scholarships or something like that?
