Likely letter

Likely letters are pretty rare, IIRC, so chill out guys! I feel kind of bad now. And some of my acquaintances also applied to Brown, haven't heard back yet, and I get the feeling there will be jealousy/bitterosity going on; I cannot WAIT until they get into college so this stupid competition is over.

Decisions are coming in less than two weeks! Again, good luck, and don't stress too much!

My son received a likely. He is not an athlete. I am very proud! Especially after reading this thread. Dated March 8, don't have the envelope to read the post mark.

lol!!! thanks for breaking the tension, tyrell!

Where is your son from, tintinmom?

lingbo, you have absolutely no reason to feel bad about posting your likely. for one, people had been asking if brown sends out likely's to non-athletes, so now we know the answer to that question. for another, it's just nice to know when brown mails any piece of mail to applicants (or gives decision times!) thank you for posting your status!

I second that- thank you, and CONGRATS! That's an amazing accomplishment! :)

funny thing. I guess Brown does send out likely letters to non-athletes. I've never heard of that before.

i got a likely and i am a non-athlete

I want a likely, but I'd take any affirmative decision from Brown. Congrats to all likely letter receivers. That's awesome!

ok people, so i have a question:

does this "likely" status letter mean that you will get into brown for 100 % sure?

^It's so close to 100% that the applicant usually does not need to worry.

A girl from our school got one. I didn't :(

Haha I also got a likely letter, but I thought Brown didn't send them out too. I'm still kind of surprised that I got it, especially since I don't consider myself an athlete, and I'm Asian. I founded the ultimate team at my school though, do you think that was what put me over?

I also just realized, I got a likely letter from Brown, but I also applied for PLME. What context should I interpret the likely letter then?

congrats to everyone.. insanely jealous here. ): lingbo I have similar stats.. you're killing me, hahah

OMG that letter was so mean before (i forget who had it.) the one about underachievement. I find it hard to believe that's "exactly" what they said...i mean "crappier?" lol. That would be probably the harshest letter form a college. I'm sorry though! I feel your pain i'm going to be rejected too i know it..not good enough :(

Jeremy -- I think that letter was a joke (;

lol i know. I was being sarcastic (not the rejection part though that is the gospel truth oh yes it is :P)
