^^^^
If you got a letter, then you are getting in.

i’m sorry about that dean j…my friend didn’t get one and she wanted to know if she was still a strong applicant…may i ask when you are mailing out letters for college science scholars? i read the blog but it only talked about echols and rodman

yea in response to southern’s post does an applicant that doesnt receive a likel letter still have a strong application ? or is it just the extremely well qualified that receive one ? and if ur out of state and dont receive a likely letter should one just stop tryin ?

I’m not quite sure how I’m supposed to answer this one. I don’t know if your friend is a strong applicant.
It hasn’t been mentioned because we haven’t made any selections at this time.
I’m really, really not sure how to even start with this one. You were responding to southern, but I think you have questions for me. I think I’ve spelled out what likely letters are and who gets them pretty clearly at this point.

Those that received this letter today should feel lucky, because Monday is a holiday and everyone else will have to wait for the mail on Tuesday. Congrats to everyone that received one.

is this a likely letter?

Dear Mr. Shoukat:

The Committee on Admission has reviewed your application and found it impressive. Your academic record, as you are probably aware, is unusually strong; so are your achievements outside the classroom. In our experience, students who have distinguished themselves in such a wide range of activities tend to move successfully through their college years and into positions of leadership in their fields of interest. I trust that this will be the case with you and I encourage you to continue challenging yourself

Please let me know!

Yup, that’s the letter.

so that means i have a pretty good chance of getting in..or is it an early acceptance letter?

A friend of mine got one. 1800/2400 SAT. 1190 CR+Math !

is your friend instate?

When do the next round of “likely letters” get sent out?

Nope! International! Applied to the Business School!

i have a 2100/2400! and i got one!
is the likely letter an early acceptance letter?

You can not apply directly to the business school as a first year. If you checked Comm (and right next to the check is says “Transfer Only”), you automatically are moved to the CLAS pool.

You apply to the Comm school in your second year.
It is what it is. A letter, not an offer of admission.
