Obviously. But the OP specifically asked what kind of scores and GPA would be required to get a likely letter (meaning acutal numbers). As I said, that’s anyone’s guess.

^ They didn’t reveal that last year, other than to say that they sent out “significantly more” than the 200 likely letters sent out the year before:

@45 Percenter- You seem to know quite a lot about Penn/Wharton, and I was wondering if you could speak to a degree from Wharton vs. Penn Economics major?

A lot of times I have heard that an Econ degree is more geared toward theories, history, and philosophies whereas a business degree provides more of a focus on teamwork, leadership, finance, accounting, etc.
I know that Wharton in particular with Mgmt 100 and similar courses clearly focuses on leadership/teamwork topics. However, at other Ivies, where undergraduate business is not an option (and thus more students become Economics majors), what is the difference in course material? And also would you say that an Econ degree from any ivy would easily outweigh an undergrad business degree from a 1-20 school on Bloomberg’s top ranked undergrad business programs list?

I have heard that at Penn, there is more prestige in a Wharton degree versus a CAS Econ degree, and that Wharton students are more heavily recruited for jobs. Would you say this is true?

So I guess I’m basically asking is an ivy econ degree more prestigious than a top 20 undergrad business degree to high ranked MBA programs (say Wharton MBA For instance) and job recruiters in the finance/business world? And in the case of Penn is a Wharton degree more prestigious than a CAS Econ degree?

@45 Percenter:Thanks for everything, you have been a huge help!!! Your answers have been great!! :)

A undergraduate degree from Wharton is most definitely more impressive than a CAS Econ Degree. Wharton has always been renowned as the BEST undergraduate business school, and perhaps the BEST business school in the nation (that’s a hot-ish topic, though, as Harvard and Stanford’s Business Schools are also top-notch). If you are interested in a career in business or someone who wants to get into a top-notch MBA school, I guarantee you that a Wharton degree will be invaluable.

@Tizil7 Hi! Sorry, I’m new to using CC…Can you tell me where I could fine the “CC Dean’s Comment” on likely letters for RD class of 2016? I am also curious to know what kind of students get these letters I’m so anxious for March 29th!!!

The official UPenn Youtube channel uploaded this video this afternoon: [University of Pennsylvania Admissions Team Announces the Likely Admitted Student Class of 2016 - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

No e-mail yet. I saw the video too. I had a friend last year who applied M&T regular who didn’t get the likely letter though, so not TOO big of a deal?

I’m going to rush out to my mailbox in my PJs right about now.

EDIT: Oh, by the way, the M&T applicant guy got in. Also, mailman hasn’t come yet.
