Likely Letters...did anyone get one?

As suggested by Pharmagal, I’m just starting this thread to see whether anyone got a likely letter (I hear Cornell/Dartmouth/Columbia already sent theirs - well certain schools within those universities) from Brown. I also have another question - does anyone know the defer -> admit rate for Brown?

Note: I calculated roughly a 27.3% admission rate for deferred -> admitted from this data (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/archive/index.php/t-32810.html).
However, that is class of '08 data, so if anyone has newer data that’d be kick ass :)

Unless you're an athlete, you're not getting a likely letter. I asked a Brown ad com if they do likely letters for non-athletes, and they said absolutely not.

haha I guess thats both good and bad - you don't feel horrible since you don't get one, but you have to wait 24 more days :/

24.................................. sigh.

yea, brown doesn't do likely letters at all-- my regional admissions officer told me that as well

By defer -> admit rate, do you mean the rate at which people who were deferred are then admitted? If so, your number is way off, and I don't see how you could have calculated it from the numbers in the link you gave.

hmm yeah your right lol I decided to think % of early in class was just % of accepted students that were from the early pool. I forgot that admitted does not equal enrolled.

haha I'm glad they don't do likely letters..

I got a phone call from Brown a couple of weeks ago; the call was reverted to the answering machine, and my mom could not hear anything that the lady was saying, other than that she was from brown, and would call back later..she still hasn't called back :(...I told my counselor about this and she said that it was most likely a likely phone call...but i have never heard of brown doing this...hopefully it's not anything bad they were calling about, like missing a document or having a computer glitch that caused my application to be erased... yeah, i have a vivid imagination..
