So, I see that more and more people are getting either likely letters or early acceptances from the colleges they applied to. I'm really curious if colleges have a practice of sending out such letters to their international applicants as well; if so, do they do it via regular mail?

Needless to say, I've been freaking out a lot (so much that I actually stopped lurking around and I am writing my first post here, yay :) )since so far, most of my snail mail from colleges has taken over three weeks to reach me :(

Just curious- which colleges send “likely letters” to internationals? Anyone received/knows anyone who received them yet?
(I’m an international from India/Singapore and I received something from UCLA. Is this what they call a “likely” e-mail? Or does EVERYONE get this? Did anyone receive this from Caltech? -and I’m sure they send it to more than 1-2 people!) :)

Likely letters for international: yes
My friends, or to be precise a girl I know, received likely letters from Georgetown, Oberlin, Yale, Princeton and Dartmouth (I guess all of schools she applied to). Needless to say her stats are off the hook. She decides to go to Yale by the way.
And another guy I know got one from Middlebury
–> they’re all Vietnamese and applied from Vietnam >.<
