<p>I know in the past, Rice has sent out "likely letters," though not necessarily every year. Does anyone know if they are "likely" to this year? And if so, sometime around mid february, right?</p>
<p>You’re right about mid-February – I just checked and my son’s likely letter was dated February 13 – back in 2008. This topic has come up a few times before and it seems like
likely letters may have eventually gone extinct. Maybe a very quick call to Admissions?</p>

<p>They simply do not mean anything. So it doesn’t affect your chances whether you did or did not.</p>
<p>So, no likely letter? Dang it, I was really hoping I could get at least a little news before April :/</p>
