Hahahaha yeah I got a random letter from Cornell a few days ago. After literally tearing up the envelope in excitement I was like …oh.

I think colleges are just playing a game with us. Any letters can come anytime. Let’s take some breaths and relax our minds.

Yeah true!!

I wake up every morning and check my mail/email, and almost everyday see something or the other from an university that I’ve applied to! I open it, hoping to see “We want you to attend our college”
But all it says is, ‘Thank you’ or ‘have you explored our website’ or ‘have a great semester’!!

Damn these colleges, I bet the admissions people have a psychology degree of some sort – toying with our minds!! :)

I am just super surprised by the fact that Dartmouth hasn’t send out the likies to anyone. Oh well! Just relax and let the dominos fall.

Have others sent out likelies yet?

I reckon they’ll be sent out by the end of the month, if not before :)

it iiis weird that they haven’t sent any out yet. o.o

they might’ve done… just no-one’s admitting to having one yet!

“POmani Have others sent out likelies yet?”

There’s action on the Yale thread. Don’t see any in the other Ivies.

@aboutthesame Good shout!

The number of people getting LLs on the Yale forum is surprising.

It seems to be all stem and athletes tho…i thought there might be some urms…tho not every posted majors

Sent from my SGH-T959P using CC

Yeah I know 3 people personally that got ll’s from Yale… It’s pretty crazy

yeah yale sends around 100-150 each year to STEM applicants. weird that dartmouth hasn’t sent any yet (at least to our knowledge on CC)

I guess we will probably have to wait till around 2/11 to find out by this speed. Good luck to everyone!

it’s probably because of the deadline extension…

and really? 25% of admits get a likely? weird.

^yeah 25% seems pretty high…

unusually high o.o

Dartmouth has to send out so many to attract students, because people who apply to Dartmouth also apply to other Ivies. Being brutally honest, Dartmouth is well-known and in a rural area (which isn’t very attractive to many) so more people are likely to ditch Dartmouth for more well-known and more urban Ivy League schools if they’re accepted to other Ivies. Likely letters increase yield (somewhat) and therefore Dartmouth sends many more than other Ivy Leagues schools!

Wait, has anyone actually gotten any likely letters from Dartmouth yet? I really want to get one, but I’m assuming since I was deferred ED, I probably won’t :(
