likely letters

I recently learned that Duke sends likely letters, and I was wondering if anyone knows when they're typically sent out? It seems they were sent early February last year, but in years prior, they were sent later. Has anyone gotten one yet?

Also, are they typically sent out via email or letter?

I know I'm probs not going to get one, but one can dream, right? :)

The letter last year was dated Feb 21. It was postmarked on Feb 22.
It came in a very plain white, window envelope.

I have a horrible memory, but I think I got mine around the beginning of March. I’m not sure whether they’re sent out at different times though.

Just got mine!!!

@meowmeow1234 So jealous!!! What were your stats?

@meowmeow1234 were you a recruited athlete?

What’s in the letter I wanna know???

S just got likely letter yesterday so I guess these do exist.

Just got mine today, not a recruited athlete.

where are you guys geographically? just trying to get an idea of mail…

Massachusetts

thanks! trying to figure out if semi-finalist for roberston means that you are going to be accepted (regardless of scholarship) or not. can’t find it anywhere.

We live in Georgia

I got one today as well. It has been postmarked on Feb. 20.

yeeee got my likely letter too =D always thought LL only goes to recruited athletes; guess i was wrong.

If the people who posted on this thread wouldn’t mind, what were your core stats like? (SAT/GPA/Class Ranks/ECs/Recs/Interview) Just curious to see what the applicant pool who received likely letters looks like.

Stats for S:

SAT2380 (one sitting, 800CR/800W/780M)/SATII 800Bio800MathII790Chem/top10%(no other rank at school)

I got mine yesterday and I got a postcard from my regional rep about 2 weeks ago.

If you don’t get a likely letter does that mean you were not accepted?

^^ no only a select few applicants, usually the ones with the highest stats, get them
