Wohoo!!! my Son got his likely letter emailed today:))) So proud of him

Congratulations to you and your son Saona63! That is quite an honor! Which college did he apply to within UPenn?

School of Engineering

@RCLVRR: they are primarily marketing tools — show the kid love, hope the kid loves back. they are very directed – at the ones they know will be hotly contested for by competing schools. Thus, by definition, only a small number get issued.

I’m a happy mom right now:) Likely letter to Upenn, invited to Vision 2014 to Rice and accepted OOS to UNC??? can someone pinch me?

Congrats Saona.

Does anyone know if the UPenn special programs (M&T, LSM, Hunstman) give out likely letters?

Apparently, they do (that is, the Admissions Office does):

Last year I think the likely letters went out on March 7 – one of my happiest days! My daughter received one for SEAS. She didn’t have her interview until late February. She received an email with a link to the video. The likely letter definitely influenced me to root for Penn, and my daughter ultimately chose Penn. Congrats to everyone who received a likely letter!

I received my likely letter this morning for the College of Arts and Sciences! Very excited and thankful for the opportunities to come

My friend just got his today! I got mine from Columbia Our principal was ecstatic!

Nice. Are there any from Wharton ?

I just got mine for Engineering yesterday! It was such a surprise! (I’m not a recruited athlete or anything)

Has anyone received the likely letter already?

Yup my friend got his for Wharton! :)

Seems like the first wave has been sent out…does UPENN do these likelies in waves??

I have not heard of people getting them after this round when they announce about sending out likelies.

According to the Dean’s blog “The University of Pennsylvania Office of Admissions will be notifying Class of 2018 ‘likely admitted’ students from mid-February through the beginning of March”. You may still receive one, would love it for my D! Best wishes!

I wish you the best for your D!! Very few get these letters, I was in awe when my son got it last week. She can still have an acceptance March 27

And here’s what a “likely” from Penn looks like this year (very similar to last year–essentially the same video):

In fact, the same video is available here:
