<p>Did anyone get the Smilow scholarship who DIDN’T apply for financial aid? It says online that their merit awards still have a need component.</p>

<p>From the NYU website: “NYU requires the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE application (for new freshmen only, to be considered for institutional [non-government] financial aid), the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (for new freshmen and continuing students, to be considered for federal financial aid).” I was told that since I was not turning in the above, I would not be considered for ANY TYPE of aid from NYU. </p>

<p>Got the smilow scholarship too! Eep! I’m still waiting for NYU to contact me to schedule the trip. Has anyone been contacted yet? I’m hoping I get to take a plane but considering I’m from MD I’m probably gonna end up taking the bus or something. boo haha. Oh well, still really excited! It still feels surreal, I feel like NYU’s gonna send me an email soon saying they didn’t mean to pick me and it was all a mistake…</p>

They asked me about whether I would like to go on a plane or train and etc. and they would be in contact with me soon. LOL I thought the same thing too and that it was just a mistake on their part. Omg it feels so surreal :D</p>

<p>One can find out if one received scholarship by going on Financial Aid Section on Albert NYU Portal.</p>

<p>Yeah it was sent to my email as well. The letter says that I was admitted and that I have also been chosen to be a Smilow Scholar.</p>
