likely letters

has anyone ever been rejected who recieved a likely letter?

I think that defeats the purpose of the likely letter. I highly doubt it, but it's certainly possible!

That'd be really mean, though.

It depends.....

have you done anything or have reason to believe there is something in your applicantion that would warrant a school rescinding an admission?

Under those circumstances, just like an admission, it would be possible to be rejected. If you haven't done anything, and are on track as far as successfully completing high school, then you have nothing to worry about.

The letter indicates that you are accepted on condition of continued good performance. Provided that nothing HIGHLY abnormal happens, it is a guarantee. (Think about it: if they didn't think they would admit you, they wouldn't give you one of the few likely letters).
