Likely letters

Does Whitman send them??

What do you mean by likely letters??? Haven't heard of them....do explain

Sorry....:)

They are letters that some colleges send out prior to regular notification that they are really interested in you, and basically offer you admission without officially doing it. Alot of the schools do it, but not all. I know alot of the other schools are doing it about now, so am just wondering about Whitman.

One more facet of the confusing college admissions game:)

Ahhh...I get it now---i am not on any admission team with the college, but I have not heard anything about them doing that. My guess would be, especially with a school of about 1500 kids, that they will spend a long time pondering over admissions in order to chose the best class possible.

I had heard them in other college's Subforums, but doubt about their very existence. This all may be a big hype.

Hi blip...

Yeah, they do exist. Whether they do at Whitman, is another thing. Oh well...good luck to us all!

Hi lurkin'
yeah, after immediately posting in this thread, I came accross the thread of Wellesley and there were lots of applicants there talkin about their received likely letters. Sorry for concluding that they don't exist, my bad.
:)

hey lurkin' and blip as well as any others---what other schools did you apply to??
