Agreed. Man, the last day of waiting is so much more difficult than the previous 3 months...gosh, I can't wait till all is said and done so I can move on with my life.

Dude mobstermob

You write so eloquently. Thank you for your words of peace. =)

Linus -

OH I KNOW. I'm on Spring Break so I try to get my mind off of this by reading articles, writing, applying for scholarships, thinking about other teenage things(boys, dancing, traveling) - but you know what? I check my e-mail about every 30 minutes when I'm home.

And, unfortunately, although I think College Confidential is comprised of [mainly] the top 5% - 10% of the applicant pool, in a very real way this IS our competition. People with less than 2.0s(on 4.0 scale) and 600 SAT Is aren't really in the running (for the most part)...so. I don't know. It's just scary.

But, I kind of thing that everything happens for a reason.

puzzledlily -- In your first post you make it seem as if you should have received a likely letter JUST because you are URM.

Just because you didn't receive a likely letter DOES NOT mean you were rejected...but I think that's what's going through your mind for some odd reason. Maybe because you received likely letters from those other schools.

You have to realize that only a small percentage of students actually receive likely letters. If your stats/essays/recs were good enough I'm sure you'll be expected.

There's less than a day till results are posted...so just chill out till then.

Yeah, I'm sorry for being so harsh...and I really hope you get in.

This thread just reminded me of so many kids from my school who do this type of worrying on a daily basis (with tests, etc) and it really annoys me when they do it. "OMG, I totally FAILED that test." Next day - 100%

I understand that this is waaay more important than a test or a quiz, and that you have the right to be worried (who isnt?). Sorry for being so mean in my first post. It wasnt anything personal and it wasnt supposed to come off that rude. Once again, good luck to all!

PUZZLEDILLY! You know what I find funny, the same kind of thing happened to me, I got likelies from a couple really nice colleges, but not my dream school, Duke. I am not saying that I got in, but top colleges want applicants that are amazing and they want them to enroll. Giving them likelies helps them make a decision to go there, where they may not have decided without the school showing interest in them. Perhaps your strong desire to go to NU showed in your application, like i hope it did in my Duke app, and they found that they did not need to try to get you to come because if they accept you, you will likely go. Perhaps this gives you a little more positive outlook and I hoep everything works out well, but if you dont get in, go to duke (FOR ME)! O i am a URM too, so best of luck.

Awwwww
That was that sweetest thing ever.
Thank you.
My sister told me the same thing...makes me feel a little better.

Hugs
I wish the best for you also. Thank you for your kind words.
