Likely Letters

Does WashU send out likely letters and, if they do, when?

I don't really think they need to.

Ivies and other top schools do it because they have a set date to release decisions (like March 31). Since they want to snag strong applicants early, they send likely letters.

WashU, on the other hand, has no set date. They do quasi-rolling admissions (in "waves," or w/e) so, instead of sending likelies, it makes more sense to me that they would just send flat-out acceptance letters!

In waves???

Yeah, what do you mean, "in waves"? Are you saying that WU sends letters out considerably earlier than the April 1st "notification" date? Ah, blah, so nervous! haha, I am just hoping to be a finalist for one or all of the scholarships that I applied to, getting nervous!

In the past, WUSTL has sent out acceptances in mid-March. Some on CC are predicting that they may be released as early as March 13 this year.

tumbletiger - you are pretty spot on concerning the timing - I don't know nor have I ever seen them go out in "waves". There could be a few days difference in the receipt of letters, but that is a variable of the US postal service not mailing time.
