<p>So after feeling bummed about not getting a likely letter and being rejected from BOTH emory & richmond scholar programs, I was poking through the mail to find a likely letter from rice! totally unexpected since I had already given up on it.</p>
<p>it has the exact same wording as the earlier one (the first reader etc.etc.) but mine was dated Feb. 23</p>
<p>SO THERE IS STILL HOPE.</p>

AP: Chem (5), World History (5), Calc AB (5), English Language (5), Environmental Science (5), Government (4), Bio (Taking this year), Calc BC (Taking this year), English Lit (Taking this year)
Essays: Common app one was great, Rice ones weren't the greatest but they did the job, apparently
Recommendations: Probably good, since I got a 5 on both teachers' AP exams</p>
<p>Significant ECs: Teen Court (11th grade, about 40-50 hours of service), President of NHS (12th grade), building a boat (I also said I was going to start a yacht design and construction organization at Rice in one of my essays, which I plan to), doing research at the NIH at some prestigious program or some **** last summer and all of 12th grade</p>
<p>Awards: Renselaer medalist (lol), some other stuff I can't remember</p>
