Likely Letters

I was going through previous threads from this board and noticed that Bryn Mawr sends out likely letters in the form of emails. Last year they seemed to start around March 13-15. So here’s to hoping that some of us may be hearing from them within a week. Please post if you get a likely email from them.

I have been trying my hardest not to think about them - but it is just too hard.

I am ready to know the decisions!

Same here. And is it just me, or is this forum very lonely. It seems like nobody is visiting the Bryn Mawr forum.

Anon–I agree. This forum does seem lonely.

I wish you gals the best of luck this week (or whenever RD decisions come out)!

P.s. I was accepted during ED II.

I check everyday to see if someone has posted, and there is nothing.

Thanks so much CMK! I am very, very anxious/nervous.
congrats on being accepted as well!

After looking back at threads from last year, it seems that things are much quieter this year. I wonder if things will pick up as we draw closer to when decisions will be released.

Yea - I am hoping so. I’m not sure how much more of this waiting by myself I can do! haha

same here!! :D

By this time last year several people had already gotten likely letters (I think in the form of an email). Has anyone gotten one yet?

Sadly, I haven’t :(

I haven’t either - once again, it is not something that I am banking on.

I got an email saying like “We know how it feels to wait for an answer and we know you’ve done your best.” And there’s a link to the “Hey There Admission” youtube video…

For me doesn’t feels like it’s a likely letter. But it’s the only letter I get from BMC besides the email saying they’ve got my app.

Anyone know what’s that?

I recently got this email “We know how it feels to wait” with the “Hey There Admission” video…

Did everybody get it ?

I think so. I got it, at any rate. Ugh! Such a tease :)

The “Hey there admissions…” video was posted on the Bryn Mawr Facebook fan page a few weeks ago (a link to the youtube page). Apparently, the Cool Grey Hoodies make a parody video every year.

My favorite part is: “Does offshore banking really count? Can we leave it out?”
Haha!

I just got an email saying that admission decisions will be posted on the Virtual Bryn Mawr accounts on Thursday, March 24th, but Thursday is the 25th - so I am not really sure when we are finding out. hahaha

I got an email from the office saying it’s Wednesday.

For some reason I never feel so nervous about the result that’s gonna come out.
(Maybe I shouldn’t have applied for financial aid. But without getting any kind of aid, it’s just impossible for me to go to college in the U.S. after spending 2 years of my HS here)

:-(

xbg2014–Don’t say that. Bryn Mawr is need-blind, and meets 100% of your financial needs. If you’re accepted, then know that you’re worth it. At least, that’s the way my debate/forensics coach explained it to me in January. :)

So far, Bryn Mawr estimated my aid for the 2010-2011 academic year to be: $40,500. However, this was before I submitted my FAFSA and CSS profile. I should be receiving more. Although I don’t know to what extent you’ll need financial aid, I do, however, know that if your EFC is low like mine, then you should receive a more than generous award. (I know each and every case is unique, but FAFSA doesn’t lie. Neither do your parents’ tax returns–unless you’re cheating the government.)

I don’t know about the FAFSA not lying, CMK… I know that my parents cannot afford to pay $22,000 a year for my college, but the FAFSA says we can.

But other than that, I think the points you make are very true.

We don’t submit FAFSA, instead, we submitted the International Student FA app.

Anyway, cross my fingers!

Bryn Mawr has been accepting more and more Chinese studet, at least that’s what I know because I know more than one student from my high school in China got in BMC…

I wanna major in Cities sooooooo much because I wanna be an urban planner… sooooooooooooooo… much!
