General questions....
Do likely letters come in big envelopes likle a regular acceptance letter would? Or do they just come in a standard envelope..?
Thanks

my question- do they come at all for early applicants who AREN'T recruited athletes?

i thought we find out online... admittedly it's preferable. You may develop a small internet phobia, but it's better than hunting down the mailman (you, I've never seen a mailwoman) everyday.

well no, he's talking about likely letters, aka, letters that arrive before december 14th and basically say, you'll probably be admitted come december.

Did I hear this correctly? Likely letters exist in the early action round too?

That is where they started,

"Likely letters" - pioneered by Princeton - were intended to be the functional equivalent of commitment letters sent to recruited athletes by athletic-scholarship-granting schools in the late fall. (ie, the "letter of intent")

Yes, I'm talking about likelys for recruited athletes.

Along that note, do all recruited athletes get likely letters? Or is it just for their absolute number one recruits?

Depends on which school, which sport, and which time of year.

Ok, Byerly... how about Harvard, track, early action? :)

Possibly, if the coach pushes you and your app is strong enough otherwise.

waiting, waiting, waiting....

All recruiting for my D sport at Yale is ed.
