It's just a handful of people posting a lot. Stop worrying. That is what CC does to you.

^Well, lackadaisy, what would that mean for students who didn't receive likelies? ^^

If I recall, about 40-50 likely letters are sent out to non-atheletes. You should certainly--as suggested on previous pages--frame it if you received one!

I've counted about 10 CCers who have said they've gotten likely letters. I think a lot of us came here because there isn't really any information about the likely program anywhere. I only started posting at CC when I found out I would get a letter and was looking for more information online.

So, it's been like 5 days since the phone call, and still no email or letter. I'm starting to worry. Haha... :X

^Don't worry--I got the letter about a week or so after the call.

nah, it's a semi-big package, and it definitely takes a week+ to arrive.

Hmmm...has anyone living outside of U.S. received a likely letter or phonecall?

I live in Taiwan, and am just wondering when to give up. :)

Congrats to all!

yes, the semi-big package is pretty sweet, although the best part of the package is it's smallest content: the letter. anyway, the biggest thing in my manila envelope was the academic bulletin for the spring semester of 2007. although i don't think i'll ever read more than 2 pages of it, it definitely made the package bulky and satisfying. my student contact said that this year they sent out actual packages to likely admits because in the previous year they sent out letters in thin envelopes and students panicked because they thought they were being rejected early.

I Got A Call Today!!

wait...
so these calls are still going out?

apparently. Crossing my fingers!!!!!

Congratulations Rooster527!! I had a feeling that letters/calls/emails could still be going on. Unless we hear from an admission's officer what the process is, no one can say for sure that likely letters/calls/emails only go out up to a certain date. What did the person say in the call? Did it say Yale on the caller ID? You were probably really excited.

If they're still going on, I'm starting to really think they're "likely"-ing all eventual acceptees, haha... XP

Thanks CMA1!!! I am absolutely ecstatic! I definitely was not expecting one and am still baffled why they sent me one.

My call actually came from my Yale interviewer, who I got along with fabulously. He just said he wanted to let me know that the admissions committee has decided to send me a likely letter, so I should be expecting that in the mail soon. A few hours later, I got a call from my admissions officer (the one that visited my school) who left a message saying he has "good news" and that I should call him back.

I am a recruit and did not get a letter , a call nor an interview . I guess I am going to be a flat out reject uh..................

screams excitedly for Rooster's sake

Wow...:'( I wanna be you. OK? Let's trade, please? I live next door to movie stars. 8)

whyivy, being a recruit only helps. Don't get down. Not everyone will get the likely letter that eventually gets in. Admissions could very well be accepting you RD. Don't give up hope.

Aw, thanks hibiscuspink! When my admissions officer called it sounded like they just decided on this, so I'm sure there are still more coming...Good luck everyone!

How positive is a likely letter? I mean, if you got a likely letter, is that it? You're in? provided you don't fail?

Word to interviewers was that around 100 applicants received likely letters.
