hahahaha I like Weezy…but more for his beats. I used to hate him as well…but not as much now But i will admit his lyrics kinda suck…

I there are many, many other rappers out there such as Lupe Fiasco, Tupac, Nas, Notorious B.I.G. ,Wiz Khalifa , Common,Dr.Dre,Jay-Z, Emine etc…the list goes on & on [that are far better].

the " tougher nigerian hair" made me lol when i heard it

along with:

-“I’m a veneral disease like a menstrual bleed”

-“Pop a willie stink a willie…”

“Call me what you like trick! Call me on that sidekick!..”

-The use of “berp berp & jerp jerp” to substitute words…

LOLOLOL. Every rapper in the list above is mainstream, Delonte. You don’t have to pretend your music is obscure when it’s not even remotely that.

It’s hard to tell the difference between “mainstream” and “underground.” A lot of “mainstream” rappers I hear people mention I’ve never heard of (for instance, I just googled Lupe, I’d never heard of him before). I mention names to people and a lot of people reply with “who’s that?” A lot of the time I figured these were fairly well known names. I think of lot of it is just different people with different tastes.

I figure calling yourself underground is the popular thing though, right?

^^ @ Millancad - I didn’t literally mean it like that. I was referring to mainstream crap such as soulja boy, 50 cent, gucci mane, birdman etc. Sorry, my word choice was poor.

Although I’m not the biggest fan of Lil Wayne, he does have some good lines on occasion.

But a couple “rappers” who I seriously hate right now are Nicki Minaj (her imitation Caribbean accent felt like a personal insult to me) and Gucci Mayne, both on Lil Wayne’s label.

I love Drake, Asher, Eminem, Kid Cudi and Kanye are awesome too. Also B.O.B. is really good.

Those are just a few off the top of my head.

I do agree with you on the dangers of overestimating what’s common knowledge; how frequently I do that myself, I’d rather not say. Lupe Fiasco may not certainly be mainstream, but I don’t think anyone could argue that Jay-Z, Eminem, and especially Biggie and Tupac are not. Someone might be able to contend that Nas isn’t mainstream, but I don’t think it would be a defensible argument.

^^^ hahaha line is
“when i was 5 my favorite movie was the gremlins
that ain’t got **** to do with this i just thought i’d mention”

why mention it then?

BEST ONE YET
from song “im goin in”
“Yeahh…Uhhuhh…um Uhhuhh…ok,
hello motha*a , hey hi how ya durin
its weezy f. baby come to take a * and urine
on the toilet bowl *****es,
■■■■■ ass ■■■■■■”

i can’t stop laughing just reading those lyrics.

I like how lil’wayne says “no homo” at the beginning of Lollipop–***??!
That also reminds me… I have a cousin in middle school that got in trouble for singing that.lmao.

I think birdman HAS to be the worst name for a rapper.

Just two things that I need to correct and then I’m done because no one is going to agree with me about Lil’ Wayne’s genius:
Lil Wayne isn’t remedial. He had straight A’s throughout high school in all honors classes.
He doesn’t spend hours thinking of his raps. Every single verse you hear is freestyle’d the moment he walks into the booth. He doesn’t write it down, he just goes and that ends up being the final product.

Hahahahaha I don’t mind Lil Wayne. He’s done a lot for the rap industry (whether you think it’s good or not)
Slash I gained a lot of respect for him after he started writing stuff from jail.
