Limit on freshman seminars?

I've read that you can only take a maximum of 4 freshman seminars over the course of your college years, but I'm wondering how strict that rule is.

For example, the general catalog states:

Freshman Seminar Program

[QUOTE]
Enrollment is limited to twenty students per seminar, with preference given to entering freshmen, and up to four seminars may be taken for credit.

So, does that imply that more seminars could be taken as non-credit?
Since seminars are taken mostly for fun anyways, the credit side doesn't really bother me.

Has anyone tried to take more seminars?

Perhaps they'll at least let you sign up later if there are still empty spots available?

Well… only a certain amount of your GPA can be pass/fail. I can’t remember the percentage, but I don’t see why you’d want to take more than 4 freshman seminars anyways. 1 unit of pass/no pass :O

I would suppose it’s flexible, put in place only so that some students wouldn’t monopolize the service.
