is there a limit to the amount of aps one may take in a given year?

Generally no, unless your high school limits them. But taking like 15 AP's might be useless--check with colleges to see if they even give credit for them. I know that many colleges I applied to limit how much credit you'll get.

I'd also recommend not taking too many (like 8+) in one year--it can be very, very hard to study for all of them, since the exams are often close to one another.

There is no limit other than you won't be able to take both AB and BC Calculus exams.

I don't recommend more than 5 or 6 per year and also taking more than two of the lab science exams (chem, physics, bio).

For me, studying/taking the exams wasn't a huge burden. It was making up the work in classes I missed that took a huuuuge toll on my grades...

So, go for it. Although I'd stop at 8...
