Will colleges hold it against me that I've only taken 2 AP classes? This is all my high school offers. I have taken nearly all honors courses they offer which in total is about 8 or 9. I get worried when I see people posting "chance me" threads and they have 8 or 9 APs listed.

Do you have any idea what schools you want to apply to? If your school doesn’t offer many high level classes you might want to explain that in your apps. I didn’t take any AP classes, but I took all honors with a few CP and I got into the 3 colleges I applied to.

I’m from Ohio and I’m looking at University of Georgia specifically along with several state schools in Ohio including OSU and OU. I have challenged myself, am involved in many ECs, volunteer, play tennis, and am in the middle 50% statistically speaking for these schools (closer to top 15% for OU). This isn’t a chance me post, I’m simply wondering if that limitation will hurt me. I do plan on explaining this in my application.

Your HS guidance counselor will note on your transcript how rigorous your schedule has been. If you have taken the highest level offered in core classes, they will check “most rigorous coursework possible”. That’s what colleges look for. They don’t hold it against you if your school doesn’t offer as much.

That’s relieving. Out of my whole high school career, I’ve only not taken two honors classes (in the sciences) out of all we offer (Like I said, we offer more honors.) I’m assuming my schedule would be considered “most rigorous.”
