Hey,
Harvard wants two TEACHER rec's, but can you send more? I really want to add a peer letter of recommendation (You guys think this would be lame?) and my debate coach's letter of recommendation as well.... What do you think?

Extra recommendations can be good if they bring new, meaningful insight to your application. If they just repeat what has already been said or just gush about you with nothing particularly exciting or new to say, it’s probably best to not submit them. It’s up to you, but I probably wouldn’t send in more than one extra myself

They ask for two because they generally get a sufficient amount of insight into your personality from two. However, if another rec adds a new dimension to you application, go for it.

i wouldn’t go more than 1 extra. any more is excessive

Peer note is next to worthless. Debate coach’s note could be useful. Send only that one.

Agree with #2, except the last sentence. It’s all dependent to the substances - as long as new information is provided to support your application.

Agree with T26E4.
