Line References that require you to read whole passage?

<p>Is this sat critical reading practice test(not by college board) accurate in stating that a line reference on the SAT can require you to read the whole passage to answer the question. It was question 5 on this site: Test</a> Professors SAT Reading V. 8</p>

<p>Just by reading the beginning paragraph, I would have picked a different answer. Are line reference questions requiring you to read the whole passage on the SAT?</p>

<p>I got A just by reading the first paragraph. So, you had to look out of the line reference. You could tell from that sentence where he showed the 2 diff views. It works good for people who know what they want but bad for those who don’t know. That’s ambivalence. You may have been thinking confounded. The author himself was not confounded by the idea. The others didn’t make any sense just by readin the passage to that point.</p>

<p>Aside from this, I do see passages that require you to have to read the whole thing, just to be completely certain about a line ref answer. Most typically for the literary passages.</p>
