Linear Algebra and Diff.Eq's books for self study?

I'm taking Independent Study in math next year. So I basically need Linear Algebra and Differential Equations books that are excellent and suitable for self study. I suppose there's a few people here who have studied the subjects... what books/resources did you use?

Why self study them? Take them at a local college. Almost every College Math Textbook Is extremely difficult to understand. For example: http://www.math.cornell.edu/~bterrell/dn.pdf

For Linear Algebra I’d recommend Strang’s Linear Algebra and Its Applications. You can even follow along with his video lectures, all of which are on Youtube and MIT OpenCourseWare.
