Linear algebra at cc

Im about to register at my local cc and need some advice. My math ap scores have exempt me from calc 1&2 and i am going into computer science hopefully to transfer to UCI. My question is should i go into linear algebra my first semester or should i wait until my second semester to do it? Does linear algebra rely heavily on skills from calculus or should i be fine if i put the necessary work into it. Any advice?

Linear Algebra can practically be done without Calc. Dive in and go for it. I found it easier than Calc 2.

I think you’ll be fine taking linear algebra. (Linear algebra doesn’t involve calculus, but most colleges have calculus as a prerequisite because people who haven’t taken calculus are less likely to have the “mathematical maturity” necessary to succeed.)
