Linear Algebra questions & WTE professors

How much is Calculus III used in Linear Algebra, if at all?
I took an online CalcIII class in high school, so I was thinking about taking Linear Algebra freshman year fall semester. However, being an online class, I'm not sure I learned all that much. So is it necessary to really understand CalcIII to succeed in Linear Algebra (get an A-/A) or is a decent base in Calc II (5 in AP BC Calc exam, A in high school class) good enough?

Also, can I get some information on the favorability of professors? Which ones are recommended/not recommended?
The ones whose classes are available to sign up for now are:
Shlick, Tamar
Walsh, Samuel
Hang, Fengbo
Vucelja, Marija
Tabak, Esteban (waitlist class)

Similar question for Writing the Essay professors. I've heard good things about Mischkot and Beckenstein. Can I get confirmation that they are good choices/more info on them? I've heard they're both nice, Mischkot being very knowledgeable and Beckenstein being a fairly easy grader.

Disclaimer: I have not taken Calc III or Linear.

I don’t think I can offer solid advice because I have no idea how difficult these classes are at NYU, but I will say linear is very difficult conceptually compared to calc III. I know several engineers and linear is one of those classes no one seems to understand until years after they take the class. Not to say these guys didn’t get a good grade in the class, its just really heavy material. If you really need that A/A- than I’d ask around some more before jumping in.
