Linens and things

Anyone know anyone (fun sentence) who has used Residence Halls Linens? Are they any good? Worth the price?

Is it really difficult to get "extra long linens" or is that just something they say to get you to buy from them?
Anyway, is it not better to wait until you know where you are staying before ordering linens since not all the beds are extra long?

Is there anyone still on this thread or is everything on myspace now?

You probably don't need extra-long linens. No one believes me when I say this, but it's true. Extra-long beds are also extra-narrow (which you'll learn quickly) and extra-thin. So normal bed linens fit perfectly on them (I had an extra-long bed and used lovely Laura Ashley sheets, which fit even with a feather bed on top). In short, get the linens that you want - if they are twin, they will fit.

Try to get a comforter for a double bed. It's really nice to have, and, if you live in an apt. during junior/senior year, you'll be sick of a twin bed and want a double bed.

If you want to play it safe and get extra long linens, they're not hard to find. I bought some when I went to Summer Scholars last year, I think they were at Macy's. You can get them at pretty much any department store. Don't buy into that Residence Hall Linens thing, total scam.

Are there ironing boards in the rooms?

no ironing boards. you either have to bring your own, borrow, or take your clothes to the dry cleaner to get them pressed.
