linens

anyone future class of 2013--

I got something in the mail a while back about linens. It loooks like a good idea to order from the catalogue thing, but I'm not sure. Does target and stuff sell extra long twin sheets? any opinions? Holla!

Target usually stocks XL twin sheets, that’s where I got mine last summer. July time stores like Target offer all sorts of back to college items for fall semester. I think it’s more convenient and practical buying at local store than mail order.

my mom got some twin XL sheets from bed bath & beyond. they were pretty expensive though.

Folks have posted previously that the quality of the “package” offers is poor.

You can find sheets and all in twin XL in Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond (for way cheaper than their stuff usually sells for–from about May -Aug) and Target to name a few. If it is not out yet, just wait, June/July/Aug they will have LOTS. BB&B already has some out now. I saw nice sheets there for $14.95 a piece for flat and fitted. You can order from BB&B online to pick up at a store in the college town of your choice, but it can be busy at pickup time. There is a great Target near FSU that last year stocked up on everything one needed for dorms, even in time for Summer move in.

at my school, Twin XL is too big.
i assume that all the beds are the same size.

i’d suggest tj max or target.

FSU has specified that in all their dorms the mattresses are TWIN XL. This is an FSU thread. All comments are for FSU beds.

The beds are XL which is longer than a standard twin. Walmart, Target, Penny’s, Sears, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc all carry a small selection of XL sheets. Most of the stores also carry sets (pillow case, sheets & comforters). If you have nerves of steel…wait until August. I found nice XL sheets sets at Penny’s for 50% off. In September I found some for 75% off at Target, which became a back up set.

i beg to differ with the comment on all dorms having XL sheets. not true. smith does not, i repeat, does not have XL twin beds.

What are the mattress sizes in the residence hall rooms?

Bryan, Kellum, Smith, Jennie Murphree, and Dorman have mattresses that are 36” x 76”. The remaining halls all have mattresses that are 36”x 80”. You may want to consider buying sheets that will fit a 36” x 80” mattress regardless of where you are assigned. If you ever change halls you would not have to replace your sheets.

sunnyflorida, calm down!

my sister goes to UF and they have the same issue/furniture.

in addition, my mattress was 36"x80".

That’s the downside of the dorms. I move around a lot while sleeping and will miss my queen sized bed.

Actually I have the same problem 350Z! I ended up having to strap my sheets to the bed.

Oh wow! Thanks for all the help.

The only issue I have with the beds is about falling off…I have tons of junk I know I will take with me to school from home, no matter how hard I tell myself not to, and I’m going to want to raise the bed.

It’ll save mom tons of tuition, though.

my mattress was really slick, and I assume the FSU mattress would be the same. my sheets would always slip off. really annoying. i probably should have taped my mattress pad down (XL twin 36x80 mat.).

raising your bed is a good idea because you can put your dresser and other pieces of furniture under it, so you save space.

i was afraid of falling off, but it never happend. my bed was at the highest point and i had my dresser under it. it was awesome :D
