Lingering fatigue after mono

Soccermom, if you don't mind me asking, how much is he sleeping? If he stays up late doing homework and goes to school all day, could he just be tired and stressed? At that age, over nine hours of sleep a day is generally considered optimal for health. Maybe he's fatigued simply because he isn't getting enough sleep on a good schedule. I remember in high school I had friends who took two hour naps after getting home from school, and I knew many others who got home from school most days utterly exhausted just from all the work and lack of proper sleep.

Any chance that some food allergies might have developed?

This may not be the case at all, but don't overlook the possibilty of stress and depression being factors.

No matter what the cause of the fatigue, a regular sleep/wake pattern and diet will definitely help improve his health. I do think a visit to the doctor is in order. Best wishes.
