Give me a good reason why I should be honest about the colleges I'm applying to in the finaid form.

It's none of their business.

Well, how else are you going to get FAFSA results to your list of colleges? You list up to 6 colleges on the form, and they send the outcome to the colleges. If you have more colleges than that, you send FAFSA back the form as a correction with the college names replaced . Otherwise it is really more cumbersome and time consuming to send each college your EFC results.

It's really just like listing the colleges on the form to College Board to send out the SAT scores. The feds don't care where you are applying. It's just that they send out the results of the financial analysis to the colleges you list.

I'm an international student, and I'll be sending paper copies of the foreign student app for finaid. It has space for 6 colleges I'm applying to. I don't see why I have to fill that in.

I might have a wrong idea about something...

I'm sorry if I sounded uppity. Was just going over the form and got very indignant.

I can see your point, the colleges will probably have that information anyway.

Hmm.. ?
