Awesome. Go Mudd!

Notre Dame does not belong with public universities and Amherst appears twice. Santa Clara would not seem to be an LAC.

@merc81 Yeah, I should have put Santa Clara in ‘other’. And Notre Dame is definitely in the wrong place.

Here’s another break-out of the private research universities.

(undergrad enrollment/postgraduate enrollment)

Private research university
Undergrad enrollment 4000-10000

Ones marked with *** have undergrad enrollment much larger than post-graduate enrollment

8 Harvard (6700/14500)
7 MIT (4500/6800)
6 University of Notre Dame (8500/3730) ***
5 Duke (6500/8500)
4 Princeton (5400/2700) ***
4 Univ of Chicago (5800/9800)
2 Dartmouth College (4300/2100) ***
1 Yale (5400/6800)
1 Carnegie Mellon University (6400/7100)
1 Columbia (8400/19500)
1 Emory (7600/6700)
1 Stanford (7000/8900)
1 Valparaiso University (3300/1200) ***
1 University of Dayton (8400/2200) ***
1 Santa Clara University (5400/3300) ***

Is there really none from Cal Tech?

There was 1 from CalTech. I put them in the “21 to a variety of 21 state schools and private universities (each school got 1)” misc group. They are a bit of an anomaly. Research university with large post-graduate program but very small (undergrad enrollment ca 1000) and not a LAC. I probably should have added them to my ‘private university’ list 2 posts above.

I like this : “Nomination deadline: October 1, Year N for the Year N+1 Prize”

I just found this website last week. Hadn’t seen this prize, though. Thanks.
