I personally think it would be helpful for new students like myself if others could post goods such as clothing and food that are sold cheap in Berkeley. Please indicate the shop and if possible the price. This way we would not be shopping blindly.

full Chinese lunch for $1.40 at Channing lmao. But I never try because we all know how it would taste like.

Top Dog = $3. :D

"full Chinese lunch for $1.40 at Channing lmao. But I never try because we all know how it would taste like."

That place is actually not bad, especially for the cost.

Probably full of MSG and extremely unhealthy. Personally I think $3 for a hot dog is a lot.
Cheap clothing? doesn't exist in Berkeley, or I don't shop around enough. As for food:
$4 will get you a good meal at TC Garden (Northside)
<$5 at Vietnamese Village (some dishes are okay)
<$6 at Peppermint Grill (pretty good burger and amazing fries)
$6 for some dishes at Thai Basil that's pretty good

Yeah the cheap food places...definitely TC Gardenand Vietnamese Village. Thai Basil is considered pretty expensive. Blondie's Pizza has slices for ~$2 for a quick and cheap lunch. Quickly's and Sweetheart's have boba for 59 cents which is great (err, add 50 cents for boba, still not bad). Chipotle's gives you a free drink if you show them your student ID card so that's a bargain. Smart Alec's is pretty cheap, healthy fast food, and if you show them a paper with an A I think you get some free fries.

Cheap clothing...San Francisco is where everyone goes to shop.

"$6 for some dishes at Thai Basil that's pretty good"

That's LOTS of msg!

Learn to make food instead of purchasing it :D.

What about sweatshirts that say Cal on it? Whats the absolute cheapest place?

probably around 30 bucks

I saw some cheap Cal sweatshirts at the local Target. I can't remember the exact price, but I think it was around $25.
