List of Colleges Accepting Stranded Students

The University of Rochester may take a few displaced students. The Eastman School of Music has already accepted three.

I'm glad Rochester is perhaps on board. It's a great school. My dd called them early in the process, since it's one of the places she had been accepted, but all they said was that they would "squeeze" her in, and they seemed kind of baffled when she raised the question of $$$ issues.

Two male students from Tulane came to Wells College over the weekend. Students are donating money to help them with the cost of attendance. Any money in excess of that will be donated to the hurricane relief effort.

I'm from Rochester and what is making it hard for them is that our freshman class is already WAYYYY overbooked.... There are about 150 more people than there should be...

Triples at Sue B?

Are you playing lax for ROC?

triples at sue b and hoeing... the lounges on each floor for sue b (except for one) are triples
No, I don't play lacrosse because the guys team seems non-existant... I'll play either frisbee or badmitton. And my d'lions want me to do cheerleading...

Sounds a little crowded but I'm sure everyone will make it through.
I was just in China and badmitton is a huge sport there.
Good luck to you, all the UofR people and all the Tulane expats.

If not already mentioned, Carnegie Mellon is accepting students.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned (too lazy to read through 11 pages of comments!), but there are UK universities also accepting displaced Katrina students. Many UK universities haven't started term yet, so it may be an option for someone who wants to spend a year abroad, but hasn't been able to arrange it yet. :)

I also am not going to read through all previous 12 pages, but I just received an email from Lynchburg Colege (Virginia), where 3 displaced students have enrolled. Lynchburg is charging for room and board only (tuition is free). More info here:

Yeah basically UCLA is expecting 67 students to enroll.

A little late...
but Southeastern Louisiana University will accept students. I know we have at least 1500 UNO students, and a bunch of Loyola students...
