I would consider the program at The Catholic University of America to be direct entry. They say it’s 2+2 starting as prenursing but a student is guaranteed a spot as long as they maintain the minimum science and overall gpa which are quite reasonable.

@Momof3kidz I think they consider themselves a 2 + 2 because they require an entrance exam sophomore year along with all the other requirements below. They also say that those not admitted will be assisted to find another program. That is not clearly completely direct. Do you still want to add it?

"Basic B.S.N. Program Admission
Baccalaureate students admitted to Catholic University who are considering a career in nursing are matriculated into the Nursing Exploratory Program housed in the School of Arts and Sciences:
Students admitted to the University and matriculated into the Nursing Exploratory Program.
During the two years in the Nursing Exploratory Program, students pursue a general liberal education, take foundational science and math courses, and learn about the vocation of nursing through selected courses. The liberal arts courses that we have selected do not only meet the requirements of the School of Arts and Sciences, but also the Baccalaureate Essentials in Nursing (2008) promulgated by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Nursing Exploratory students will be intensively advised by an Undergraduate Advisor from the Undergraduate Advising Center. Our aim is that all students admitted into the Nursing Exploratory Program graduate from Catholic University in four years.
Nursing Exploratory students are invited to participate in a variety of programs, including the Spanish for Healthcare Certificate Program, the Population Health curriculum for nurses, and the National Student Nurses Association.
Students are continually reviewed their first two years in the School of Arts and Sciences. If they do not meet the Cumulative and Science GPA requirements in #5 (below) or if they have not completed the freshman program plan (outlined below), their entire record will be evaluated to determine if they can continue in the Nursing Exploratory Program.
At the completion of 60 credit hours, Catholic University Nursing Exploratory students who meet ALL of the following criteria will be admitted into the upper division BSN program:
- Catholic University Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Overall Catholic University Science GPA (BIO 232, BIO 233, BIO 223, CHEM 109, CHEM 119) of at least 2.75. All of these courses must be attempted once at Catholic University. A student may repeat no more than one science course. An attempt is defined as enrollment in a class with the following indication on a transcript a) course grade, b) incomplete = I, c) Withdraw = W.
- Successful completion of HESI entrance exam during the fall semester of the sophomore year, with a minimum composite score of 75% and 75% or higher on the science, English and math composite scores.
Students who are not admitted to the upper division BSN program will be assisted by their advisor in identifying another plan of studies at Catholic University."

@readthetealeaves It’s totally up to you whether or not you think it should be added. The HESI is a pretty popular test used in many nursing curriculums. The tests are basically preparation for the NCLEX. The ones the students must pass to get into the full nursing program at CUA are basic skills math, English, science and one other (cannot remember which one). The remaining nursing classes have a HESI at the end of the semester as part of the class.
When my D17 considered Seton Hall, the school required students to pass the HESI before taking the NCLEX. I believe Purdue along with others have the same policy. This doesn’t seem different to me than CUA’s policy but I can understand if others feel differently. I do know that there are other schools on the above list that require students to take the HESI as part of their programs (Rutgers Camden for instance).
The University of Wyoming program is direct-entry. And they provide some nice merit aid.

My D20 was just accepted to UAB into their Dean’s Nursing Scholars Program. Maybe list it with parentheses after it stating to check the Dean’s Nursing Scholars tab.
The University of Utah has a direct entry option for highly qualified high school applicants called Nursing Early Assurance Program (NEAP), as well as the regular 2+2 option.
