List of good colleges

Can anybody give me a list of good colleges in NC that will accept a SAT (CR +Math) score of 1050, AP Bio 5, class rank 58/440, SATII Bio 680 and GPA 3.8.

Lenoir-Rhyne
Wingate
Appalachian State
Belmont Abbey
Barton
Catawba
High Point

I personally like Lenoir-Rhyne a lot. I thought about applying there. But I decided to stay in-state (South Carolina).

Do you think I've chances in UNC Chapelhill or NC State?

If you live in North Carolina, definitely.

Have you thought about Wake Forest?

SAT's are probably too low for CH, but you could give it a shot (especially if a huge disparity exists between the M/V). UNC-Wilmington is a really nice school, I really liked it when I visited. If you are interested in biology, UNCW has a really highly rated marine biology program (and it is 10-15 minutes from the beach).

Maybe UNC-Asheville, UNC Charlotte, Lees-McRae, or Lenoir-Rhyne. If you're willing to look a little into SC, Wofford.

I think stats are too low for Chapel Hill and Wake Forest. I don't really know about NC State.

Well, my stats might have been higher if I came to US two or three years before. I came to US in November last year. And my high school counselors messed up my grades. In my country in English 70 was A.But here it is C. What was A in my country is C over here. Now I make all As and Im enrolled in all AP and honors clases. And I always make the highest grade but my class rank and gpa is lower than others.
The SAT is also being quite difficult for me because of maths. I never did those maths before.
Do you think colleges are going to consider all this?

They might consider all of that but I don't think it will make that much difference because there are people who do have the stats, even people who recently immigrated to the US. I don't think they will excuse your lower stats for that reason and just accept you anyway. At least I can't see schools like Chapel Hill doing that when they have so many applicants with much higher stats. It's worth a shot though.

I do think you have a shot at some schools people have listed here. Are you in-state or out-of-state?

I'm instate.

Im planning to give the SAT again in January 27. But the last day for chapel hill application is January 15th. Do i have to give the college my DEC SAT Score? I really wish they were considering my JAN score. I hope that will be higher than the Dec one.
Last year, when I got admitted my class rank was 119/440. After I took all AP bio class and other honors class my rank now is 58/440. This semester I took more AP classes. I hope my class rank will be even higher. But in my high school class rank will be adjusted in February. Is chapelhill going to accept my transcript if i give it later( i.e in February, after the admisison deadline?)

i think they might still accept your jan scores if you explain your situation to them.

"And my high school counselors messed up my grades. In my country in English 70 was A.But here it is C. What was A in my country is C over here."

Can't you talk to your guidance counselors?

I did. But they didn't care.
There are few international students in my school. I guess my counselors don't know much about conversion of international grading.

You're GC's didn't care? Have you taken this up the ladder (Principal, Dean of Students, etc)? Your GC's are supposed to care, they're getting paid for that job, to be a GC, not just data entry clerks.

That's not news to me. At my school, everyone has beef with the guidance department. GCs at my school, don't care about anything, they do everything half-ass just to get you out of their office.

But to the OP i think you should try every NC school you like, your SAT scores aren't great, but everything else is pretty strong so i think you have a good shot at some good colleges.
