Hi @madbean, @georgia girl, and all, I seem to remember someone (either @madbean or @georgia girl and/or others) posted on CC a list of all Departmental Scholarships for Dornsife and Viterbi existing students. Somehow, I just could not find the track of the discussion(s) anymore. Would @madbean or @georgia girl or others re-post the list or provide the link to the past list? It looks like my D may have to explore the possibilities in getting smaller/departmental aids in the future to cover shortfalls.
Thanks a lot. You are so resourceful and helpful throughout this stressful period!

No problem. Here is a link for Dornsife: http://dornsife.usc.edu/css And just in case, here’s the link for Viterbi: http://viterbi.usc.edu/students/undergrad/finaid/

nvaparent,
Posted for your convenience is the original thread regarding continuing student scholarships. I have tried to update as more scholarships have been added.

Many times I have posted reminding students to seek local scholarships. An organization here in suburban Atlanta was offering scholarships to junior/senior women. Letters were sent out to local colleges, etc. The form only takes about ten minutes to complete. Only SIX applications were submitted by the deadline. It is just an example, but there may not be hundreds who compete for some local scholarships.

USC also offers SURF/SOAR/Provost funds for research projects during the school year (SOAR/Provost) and summer (SURF/Provost). Students can get up to 3K per semester/summer for research projects. You can apply for SURF funds to help off set costs of Problems without Passport adventures.

These are competitive and you need to apply for them

**Another big advantage of the T/P scholarship is that it can be applied towards summer classes or Problems without passport class. When added with SURF funds, it really brings down the cost of such a summer class. I think there is a limit to how many times you can do this but I am not sure and couldn’t find the link tonight.

^ The opportunity to use T/P funds for summer school is called Exceptional Funding. It funds up to 8 units for Trustee, Mork and Stamps scholars and 1/2 of up to 8 units for Presidential scholars (and no, Presidential scholars cannot choose to take full funding for 4 units ). The units may be taken over the summer (you may use all 8 or just a few and save some for future use) or during Fall or Spring semesters to pay for extra units over the 18 included in flat-rate tuition (up to 2 per semester).

And the SURF/SOAR/Provost opportunities are extraordinary! My student wrote a proposal as a freshman and was on a plane for 2 months of fully-funded research abroad at the close of freshman year.

The opportunities at USC are endless.

^ Thank you! I couldn’t remember what it was called to search for it.

Thank you for the excellent posts!
